About This Course

This course provides an introduction to the modeling of Information Systems, from understanding organizational needs to representing a system through structured models. It introduces the fundamental concepts of Information Systems, requirements engineering, system modeling, UML (Unified Modeling Language), and Model-Driven Engineering (MDE).

Through theoretical explanations, examples, case studies, and practical activities, learners will progressively develop the ability to analyze system requirements and represent different aspects of an Information System using appropriate modeling techniques. The course also introduces the role of models and model transformations in software development and presents the main concepts related to Information System architectures.

The course is designed to provide learners with a structured approach to moving from a real-world problem and its requirements to a formal representation of the proposed Information System. It is particularly relevant for students and professionals interested in Information Systems, Software Engineering, UML, and digital system design.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of computer science, algorithms, data structures, and software engineering is recommended. No previous experience with UML or Model-Driven Engineering is required, as these concepts will be introduced progressively throughout the course.
